Our journeys take a comfortable pace, punctuated by enough free time for visitors to explore for themselves or just relax a little. We believe that no-one can truly appreciate the beauty of a place if they have only ten minutes to see it, so we allow time at each location to take photos, talk to local people or just absorb the atmosphere.
Accommodation is generally in clean, comfortable, locally-owned guesthouses or small hotels with fan or air-conditioning and private bathroom, each of which has been hand-picked by us. The exceptions are actually highlights of our trips - a homestay in wooden houses on the banks of a river, a ranger station on the site of an old hill station, or a pagoda in a remote village.
Our trips are for a maximum of 10 people, so that we don't smother the small communities we visit and can make use of more unusual forms of transport!
Trip prices include: bed and breakfast - twin or double share accommodation (single supplements available), all tour transportation, guides and admissions and the services of a local, English-speaking tour leader.
We also send you our own handwritten travel guide, to help you prepare for your trip. This invaluable pack includes information about the history, language and culture, as well as details of certain special places you could be visiting during your journey.
Restaurant reviews, maps and information on travelling responsibly ensures that you'll really be able to get the most from your trip with us!
