Angkor Wat Tours

Cambodia was once the home of the powerful Khmer kingdom and to this day, the country dazzles with countless architectural treasures from that era. And the fabled temples of Angkor are the greatest – and the grandest -  of them all! The magnificent complex – build in the first half of the 12th century – is considered the heart of the country and is unrivalled in its beauty and state of preservation. It’s the largest religious monument in the world and a truly unique and breathtaking sight you just have to go see for yourself!

The masterpiece of the complex is the main temple, Angkor Wat. It’s Cambodia’s most beloved and best preserved one. This 500-acre building is the mostfamous of all temples in the Angkor Archaeological Park. Another world-renowned temple is Ta Prohm. This hidden treasure is deliberately left mostly un-restored, and therefore still tangled and strangled by the jungle.

But what a lot of people don’t realize, is that there are some other really ravishing sites just outside of Siem Reap. The beautiful Tonle Sap river and lake that is the home of Kampong Kleng – a picturesque little village on stilts – and Kbal Spein, where you can trek along the river to see fabulous scenes of Hindu gods and sacred lingas carved into the riverbed are sites well worth visiting. Day 1
One of our representatives will meet you at Siem Reap airport in the morning, and transfer you to your hotel to check in. Afterwards your local guide will take you to some of the main sights and tell you about the historical evolution of the Khmer kingdom and the building of the temples. Lunch can be taken at a local restaurant and will give you the opportunity to take a break from the warm midday sun. Just before sunset you’ll climb to the top of Angkor Wat for a sight you really don’t want to miss: the sun setting behind the historic temples. You return to your hotel by early evening.

    Day 2
Early in the morning you will leave for Kampong Kleng, a small village on the Tonle Sap river. This village is built on stilts, as the water level of the river gets very high during wet season. A boat trip along the river and out on the Tonle Sap Lake will show you a bit more of local life and customs. Afterwards we take you to the abandoned temple of Beng Melea. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant along the way through the beautiful, unspoiled countryside. Stops can be made as much as you like.

    Day 3
Today you visit the ancient stone carvings of Kbal Spein, which are reached by a scenic short trek through the jungle. The afternoon is free for you to explore charming Seam Riep on your own pace, have a swim or to just relax.

    Day 4
Free time until your transfer to the airport.
